Surge Cards can be requested online
Students and employees who need to acquire a SurgeCard (College ID card) can request their card online.
- This option was made in response to the pandemic protocols, so students taking all of their classes in remote format can obtain a SurgeCard without making a trip to campus.
- Those who want to obtain a SurgeCard in person can still do so in the Student Activities Office during standard business hours.
- The new online process can also be used to request a replacement SurgeCard. (Replacement cards are $10 and the fee will be added to the student’s account.)
To request a SurgeCard online:
- Go to the “Online Surge Card Office” tab on Blackboard.
- Then look for the link on the right side of the screen titled “Surge Card Request and Photo Submission.”
- Clicking the link opens the eForm used to request a new or replacement SurgeCard. For a new card, a “headshot” photo must be submitted also.
Student Activities processes the SurgeCard requests. Cards will be mailed to the provided address in less than 2 weeks.
For employees who are sharing information with students, please remember:
- Students must be registered for classes to request a SurgeCard. Students who are admitted but not registered cannot get a SurgeCard.
- Students must wait about an hour after registering to request a SurgeCard either in-person or online.
- Pictures that are submitted must clearly display the student’s head and face only, and should not include sunglasses or head coverings (except for religious reasons).
- Printing privileges do not activate on a student’s SurgeCard until the first day of the semester in which they are enrolled for classes.
