September BOT meeting slides & recording posted

Some of the topics discussed during the meeting included:
- Recognition of students and business partners who contribute to Cincinnati State classes and activities offered at the Butler Tech Bioscience Campus, where the September Board meeting took place
- The Financial Report from CFO Chris Calvert.
- The College’s net surplus as of August is over $85,000 and the Senate Bill 6 score is 4.7 (on a 5-point scale).
- Upcoming fiscal planning topics include preparing the Fiscal Year 2023 budget, setting priorities for use of capital funds and stimulus funds, and determining tuition rates for the future.
- The updated Clery Report on campus safety.
- Campus Chief of Police Dan Reid said that for 2 years in a row, the College has not had any reportable crimes on campus.
- Clery Reports for each campus are posted on the Campus Safety and Security page of the College website
- Approval of a 5-year projected academic calendar presented by Provost Robbin Hoopes.
- Provost Hoopes said the calendar was reviewed by the Calendar Committee and incorporates a Spring Break.
- He said the calendar will continue to be reviewed annually and adjusted if needed.
- Approval of a change to the Board’s Bylaws to allow continuation of virtual meetings. Provisions include:
- At least one-third of Board members must meet in-person if others are attending virtually.
- Each Board member must attend a minimum of 50% of the meetings in person.
- President Posey’s report included:
- A summary of services and activities that have returned to in-person operations
- A report on activities of the recently-formed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Council
- A report on the kick-off of Moon Shot for Equity, a collaborative project that includes Cincinnati State, Miami University, Northern Kentucky University, and Gateway Technical and Community College.
The next Board meeting will be Oct. 26 at the Harrison Campus. The Board will not meet in November, but will meet Dec. 7 at the Evendale Campus.
