More than 100 employees & retirees enjoyed Virtual Holiday Lunch 2020

Dec 21, 2020

Over 100 current and retired College employees attended the 2020 Holiday Luncheon, sponsored by the Cincinnati State Foundation, which took place via Zoom on Dec. 17.

The 90-minute gathering included contests and chat, with conversation facilitated by Foundation Board member Jeff Stec to help give everyone a chance to exchange greetings in the computer-mediated setting.

More than 230 heat-and-serve holiday box lunches from Funky’s Catering were distributed before the event.

President Monica Posey said, “The holiday event planning team developed an innovative plan that was challenging to carry out, but it worked.”

“The positive energy among our retirees who attended was extremely rewarding,” Dr. Posey added.

In the photo above, retirees Tom Bauer (upper left), Annie and Tom Stark (lower left), and Mike Jones (lower right) chatted with Kim Taylor from the Office of Advancement, who was one of the event facilitators.

The gathering included a series of trivia contests (facilitated by Tom Hale) with questions about winter holidays and College history.

Participants submitted their answers “live” via Zoom chat.  Lunch attendees also voted for winners of photo contest entries that were submitted prior to the event.

Winners of $10 Starbucks gift cards were:

“The entrepreneurial Cincinnati State spirit truly came through with this event,” Elliott added.

“A lot of intense work came together quickly to organize and execute this event full of logistics without precedent for us– and the result was fun!”
