WDC provides national training program for P&G engineers
In mid-February, twelve engineers from Procter & Gamble plants in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Phoenix, Arizona, attended a Component Inspection Training Workshop at Cincinnati State’s Workforce Development Center (WDC) in Evendale.
The training was led by WDC instructors Jeff McNabb, Jim Bowling, and Russ Bowles. They guided the group of electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineers in comprehensive hands-on experiences that required trainees to apply theoretical concepts to real life situations.
“The P&G engineers showed remarkable enthusiasm for hands-on labs,” McNabb said. “They weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.”
Bowling added, “The most satisfying thing is seeing the light come on when they get it, and that’s when the learning begins.”
This partnership between P&G and Cincinnati State WDC has been ongoing for about seven years. Additional training groups are expected in late March or April.
