First group of prize winners announced for Student Vax Incentive Program

Brandie Woods is the winner of the first $1,000 prize drawing in the Student Vaccination Incentive Program.

Brandie, a Pre-Business Administration student, received her check on Oct. 6 from Shane Winslow, President of the Cincinnati State Student Government Association.

Brandie said she got the COVID-19 vaccination to protect her own health and “for my grandchildren who can’t get the vaccine yet.”

More than 480 Fall Semester students have entered the Incentive Program as of Oct. 8, and 18 students have reported receiving their initial dose of the vaccine since the Incentive Program started on Sep. 29.

Faculty members are encouraged to post information about the Vaccination Incentive Program in your Blackboard course.

  • Fully vaccinated students fill out an eForm to enter the prize drawing. (The form is viewable only to students who are logged into MyCState/MyServices.)
    • Each Wednesday during Fall Semester, 10 prizes of $100 and 1 prize of $1,000 are awarded to students entered into the drawing.
    • A grand prize drawing for $10,000 will take place Dec. 15.
  • Another on-campus clinic is being scheduled, where technicians from Walgreen’s will provide the first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
    • Students also may receive the vaccine from any authorized provider and bring their vaccination card to Clifton or Middletown campus to receive a $25 gift card.
