CState CEEP Fellow promoted voter engagement
Cincinnati State student Christy Hicks hosted a “Voter’s Treat” event on Oct. 28 to encourage students to learn about the importance of voting.
Christy is a Nursing student and is CState’s current representative for the Campus Election Engagement Project (CEEP).
As a CEEP Fellow, Christy has been working since August to provide information about voting to students via email, games, and events.
CEEP is a national, nonpartisan project that helps faculty, staff, and student leaders at America’s colleges and universities engage students in federal, state, and local elections.
For the pre-Halloween “Voter’s Treat” event, Christy transformed into Willy Wonka. As seen in photos above and below, she distributed candy bars to drive-through visitors, including some “Golden Ticket” candy bars that could be exchanged for a gift card.
For more information about how to become a CEEP Fellow, students should contact the Student Activities Office.
