Students can select Spring ’23 classes using new “DualEnroll” tool; Network outage updates now available on College website
Although MyServices remains inaccessible due to the network outage, students can now select their classes for Spring Semester 2023, using a new online tool called “DualEnroll”.
Cincinnati State’s Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, Mollie Miller, is the point person for development of the new tool, in consultation with several faculty, staff, and administrators who are familiar with the College’s registration processes.
- Academic division faculty and staff members, as well as Registrar’s Office staff, will be able to make continuous adjustments to ensure that information students see in DualEnroll is accurate and up-to-date.
Using DualEnroll, students can “save a place” in Spring classes, and make changes to their selections.
- To get started with DualEnroll, each student must create a DualEnroll account– this is not the same as the student’s current Cincinnati State MyServices account.
- When College network systems are working again, the Spring course selections made with DualEnroll will be loaded into the College’s standard registration system.
Detailed information about how to use the DualEnroll tool is being sent to currently-enrolled students via Cincinnati State email.
The information provided for students include links to two instructional videos created by Paul DeNu from the Office of Online Learning:
- Cincinnati State DualEnroll – How to Reserve Courses (2 min.)
- Cincinnati State DualEnroll – How to Search, Add, or Abandon (Drop) Courses (4 min.)
Other information students need to get started, including the link to access the DualEnroll site and the student’s ID number, are part of the email message sent to students.
- On Saturday, Nov. 19, about 1,000 students who completed an academic advising appointment after Oct. 30, but had not yet registered for Spring classes, received instructions for using DualEnroll.
- On Monday, Nov. 21, students who are enrolled for Fall Semester but had not registered for Spring classes as of Oct. 31 will receive the instructions for using DualEnroll.
- Students who registered for Spring classes using MyServices prior to the network outage have their choices “saved” and don’t need to use DualEnroll right away. These students will receive information about how to make changes to their saved Spring courses.
- CCP (College Credit Plus) and WDC (Workforce Development Center) student processes for selecting Spring classes are expected to begin after Thanksgiving Break.
- Processes for new students who are taking classes at Cincinnati State for the first time in Spring 2023 are expected to begin the week of Dec. 5.
New web page provides updates on network outage & FAQs
A Network Outage Update page has been added to the Cincinnati State website, and can be viewed at https://www.cincinnatistate.edu/restoration-update.
- The page will be updated whenever new information is available.
- The page includes FAQs for students and employees. Additional questions and answers will be added soon.

Academic Response Team re-established
The College’s Academic Response Team (ART), which helped provide guidance for College processes and communications throughout COVID and other events, has been re-established to respond to concerns about the network outage and the effect of the outage on academics and other College operations.
ART is led by Provost Robbin Hoopes, and includes representatives of faculty, staff, and administration.
The team held an initial meeting on Nov. 18 and will meet again in the late afternoon on Nov. 21.
