St Xavier team at GCAL Tournament — St. Xavier's team won the Greater Cincinnati Academic League Tournament hosted by Cincinnati State

Cincinnati State hosted the Greater Cincinnati Academic League 2022 Fall Tournament on November 5. Eight high school teams competed, with St. Xavier capturing the tournament championship (with a win over Elder) for the second year in a row.

Purcell Marian

Tournament organizers Mark Tiemeier and Milene Donline said the event “got a lot of positive feedback” from the students, their family members, and the teachers who serve as team coaches.

“We appreciate the help provided by VP Steve Morris and our Campus Police that allowed the event to run smoothly,” Milene said.

Additional high school academic league tournaments will take place in January and February, and volunteers are still needed to help with weekly competitions on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m.
