Brewing students offer virtual Beer Fest on May 2
Students in the Cincinnati State class BREW 105, Beverage Tourism and Tasting Management, will wrap up the semester by hosting “Project Brew”– a mostly-virtual beer festival– on Sunday, May 2.
Brewing Science Program Chair Carla Gesell-Streeter said this year’s mostly-virtual event is a test run of a how a festival might be offered in future years.
- From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., students will serve as moderators for a series of 1-hour Zoom webinar sessions, featuring local experts on varied brewing-related topics.
- Paid attendees will receive the link for the webinars approximately 24 hours before the event.
- The festival will wrap up with a socially distanced happy hour at 13 Below Brewery, from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants can join the happy hour on Zoom also.
You can also purchase a festival t-shirt and/or pint glass for pickup at 13 Below Brewery, or for delivery.
Proceeds from the festival support the Jim Hennessey Memorial Scholarship and the Cincinnati State Brewing Science Department.
