August BOT meeting slides & recording posted

If you were unable to attend the Aug. 24 meeting of the College Board of Trustees, the video recording of the meeting is available on the College intranet.

Some of the topics discussed during the meeting included:

  • The Financial Report from CFO Chris Calvert:
    • The net surplus for the end of the fiscal year 2021 is expected to be over $7 million and the Senate Bill 6 score is expected to be over 4.0 (on a 5-point scale) and could reach an institutional record high of 4.7.
    • The College is permitted to raise tuition by $5 for Spring or Summer 2022, and the Executive Team will bring a recommendation to the Board next month.
    • The College recently received $7.9 million in additional stimulus funds, and Dr. Posey has increased the amount of stimulus funds to be allocated for instructional equipment and student technology.
  • Approval of resolutions to continue the Be Great High School grants and the tuition waiver for CCP students.
     
  • Approval of a resolution to start a College Comeback Debt Relief program for students (read more about this program in the Cincinnati Enquirer).
     
  • A report from Provost Robbin Hoopes on the College’s national and programmatic accreditation processes.
     
  • A report from Faculty Senate President Lesli Rice on faculty involvement in governance committee work throughout the summer.
     
  • Recognition by President Posey of CFO Chris Calvert for his nomination for a Cincinnati Business Courier “C-Suite” award, and recognition of the student Land Surveying team that earned 2nd place in a recent national student competition.
     
  • President Posey also summarized other recent noteworthy College events, and announced the locations of Board meetings for the rest of 2021:
    • Sep. 28 – Butler Tech Bioscience Campus
    • Oct. 26 – Harrison Campus
    • Dec. 7 – Evendale Campus
