If you’re feeling burned out and want to refresh your outlook (or help others refresh theirs), two opportunities are available on Wednesday, August 24, to examine this important topic.

SOCHE (Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education) is offering a webinar on August 24 at 1 p.m., through the “Go2Knowledge” platform, titled “Faculty & Staff Mental Health & Wellness: Battling Burnout & Supporting Colleagues.”

  • This webinar will review faculty and staff mental health trends in light of the pandemic, discuss the importance of recognizing and proactively coping with burnout, and examine best approaches to supporting colleagues who are in distress.
  • The presentation leader is Nathaan Demers, Psy.D., Vice President and Director of Clinical Programs at Grit Digital Health.
  • Click to learn more about the webinar. However, before you register for the webinar, visit the SOCHE Go2Knowledge page to register for a free account.
  • If you can’t attend the live webinar session, you’ll be able to view it a couple of days later in the on-demand portion of the SOCHE/Go2Knowledge library. If you have trouble accessing the library, you can contact support@ieinfo.org.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is offering a free webinar on August 24 at 2 p.m. titled “Burned Out: How to Support the Faculty.”

  • The virtual forum will examine steps colleges can take to reduce stress, prevent burnout, and improve the teaching experience.
  • The forum leader is Emma Pettit, Senior Reporter for The Chronicle.
  • Click to learn more and register for the forum. A recording will be available to registrants who can’t participate in the live event.
