Welcome Nate Crayton, new Grant Development Manager
Shanathan “Nate” Crayton has joined the Cincinnati State Institutional Advancement Office as a Grant Development Manager.
Nate’s primary responsibility is overseeing the College’s post-award grant management system, which includes federal, state, and private grants.
He will work with grant recipients across the College to assist them in maximizing grant potential and ensuring that funder requirements are met.
Nate also will work closely with the Institutional Advancement team, the College’s lead grant writer, Richard Curtis, and with fundraising efforts tied to the Cincinnati State Foundation.
“We are excited to have Nate join our team,” said Elliott Ruther, Chief of Advancement. “We are thrilled to provide more support for the hard won grants we have and to further develop and secure new public and private grant opportunities. Working with Richard, Nate will help us reach those goals.”
A native of Orlando, Florida, Nate moved to Cincinnati from Miami to join Cincinnati State.
He previously served as a Grant Program Coordinator for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Miami, and prior to that, at Miami Dade Community College.
Nate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Florida State University, and a Master of Arts in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute.
For the past three years he has been a full-time doctoral candidate at Regent University, pursuing a degree in Higher Education Leadership and Management.
In his spare time, Nate enjoys traveling, recreational activities, and learning languages (he’s currently studying Hebrew).
Ruther expressed appreciation to the hiring committee that included Carrie Baynes, Tony Cowden, Kelly Hubbard, and Doug Bowling.
