Cincy State volunteers helped Freestore Foodbank

Several Cincinnati State employees, plus some family members and friends, helped assemble over 1,000 “Power Packs” for the Freestore Foodbank on February 1, 2025. The Saturday service project at the Freestore Foodbank warehouse near Delhi was hosted by the Cincinnati State Faculty Senate.

Each Power Pack contains over a dozen food items that are shelf-stable and kid-friendly. The Power Packs are distributed on Fridays to food-insecure local students so they have easy-to-prepare food for the weekend.

Faculty and staff volunteers included Nora Beckmann, Patty Christos, Anne Dean, Jayne Dressing, Kristi Drout, Reena Goel, Stani Kantcheva, Wednesday Oster, Crissy Ross, Carla Rhoades, Holly Stoddard, Kim Taylor, Donna Von Deylen, Ginna Witte, Doug Woodruff, and Abbey Yee.

The Faculty Senate thanks all who helped with this project. The Senate plans to host other community service events in the future.
