Career Center provides help for recent grads as well as current students

The Cincinnati State Career Center is not just for current students– help and support is available to College alumni for two years following graduation.

Support for alumni includes:

Use CState CareerLink, the online system that connects Cincinnati State students and graduates to employment opportunities. Log in at https://cincinnatistate-csm.symplicity.com/students. Graduates can work with the Career Center staff to:

  • Review the resume you’re using in CareerLink
  • Make sure your CareerLink settings are focused on employment for graduates
  • Navigate job opportunities and apply for posted job opportunities

Work with the Career Center staff to develop strategies and skills for marketing yourself, such as:

  • Improving/tailoring your resume
  • Preparing cover letters
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Using LinkedIn effectively
  • And more!

Practice for interviews:

  • “The Big Interview” (provided through OhioMeansJobs) is a free online service that helps job seekers prepare for interviewing with a series of video tutorials and virtual interview practice.
  • Other job search tools and resources are available from the “Marketing Yourself” section of the Career Center web page.

Get professional attire:

  • Recent graduates and current students who are preparing for a job interview, attending a job fair, or giving a class presentation that requires professional attire are welcome to “shop” (at no cost) at the Cincinnati State Career Closet.
  • Also, the Career Center make referrals for women to Dress for Success Cincinnati, another source for professional attire. Talk to a Career Center staff member for more information.

Make an appointment to get personal assistance:

  • Recent graduates and current students who want to meet with a Career Center staff member can make an appointment via Starfish, or call the Career Center at (513) 569-4242.
