Campus vending machines will use a new vendor, starting in January
Starting Tuesday, December 19, all vending machines on Cincinnati State’s Clifton, Harrison, and Evendale campuses will be removed, and from January 2 through January 15, new vending machines for snacks and beverages will be installed.
- Legislation enacted by the State of Ohio in 2017 specifies that the state may require public colleges and universities in Ohio to use vending services provided through Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), a state agency that “empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence.”
- Recently, the state exercised its option to require Cincinnati State and many other Ohio colleges and universities to begin using OOD vending services.
- The company that will provide campus vending services at Cincinnati State, Snacs Vending LLC, is part of the OOD Business Enterprise Program.
New vending machines will be placed in the same locations as current vending machines and will include snack machines and beverage machines with Coke-brand products. The new vending company will not be able to install a coffee machine.
Prices are expected to increase when the new vending machines are in place.
The Overlook Cafe on Clifton Campus will be open in December after vending machines are removed, and in January while new machines are installed.
Overlook days/hours for December 18-22, January 2-5, and January 8-12 are:
- Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
