Dr. Dees named to Winton Woods Educational Foundation Board

Dr. Sandra Dees, Academic Coach/Support Specialist in TRiO College Access Programs, has been designated as a Board Member of the Winton Woods Educational Foundation.

The Foundation’s goal is “to enhance the educational excellence of the Winton Woods City School District and provide expanded opportunities for students to learn and grow by obtaining and administering funds to provide grants for educational programs, experimental projects, specialized equipment, interactive community projects, and educational immersion experiences.”

The Foundation was established in 2006 by a group of concerned public school supporters and started to provide funding for projects submitted by teachers and staff members after three years of fundraising.

Dr. Dees has been a long-time advocate and supporter for Winton Woods City Schools. Dr. Dees said, “I am excited to be the newest member of the Educational Foundation Board, which does outstanding work in the district. I look forward to sharing my knowledge on educational issues and community needs.”

“What I have learned from my time at Cincinnati State, starting in 1999, will allow me to transfer student-centered methodologies to the Foundation’s work,” she added.

“I appreciate the mentoring I’ve received from Mrs. Bari Ewing (Retired Director of College Access Programs) and Dr. Kimberly Richards, and the support of the current Student Support Services group: Interim Director Shelia Bratcher, Dr. Stefini Stallworth, Dr. Jennifer Davis-Bowman, Mrs. Erma Rutland-White, and Mrs. Arlene Brown.”
