Summer Welcome Days served nearly 500 new students & guests
Cincinnati State’s final Summer Welcome Day for new students, on August 17, assisted 184 students and their family members and guests, bringing the total attendance to about 360.
Director of Admissions Debbie Poweleit said, “Welcome Days are a valuable event for new students and their families. This summer we served nearly 500 students and guests during our four Welcome Day events, and we received many positive comments.”
Feedback from some of the August 17 attendees included:

- “The event was excellent! Really learned a lot more than I would have on my own.”
- “Thank you for the warm welcome! Everyone we met was very friendly.”

- “The event was excellent and very informative. Thank you for taking the time to make enrollment an easy and pleasant experience.”
Debbie thanked everyone who assisted with Welcome Day activities this summer, including faculty and staff members from the academic divisions, Student Activities, the College Bookstore, Facilities, ITS, Marketing, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration, and “our awesome student volunteers.”
“Everyone who helped made a difference in creating a welcoming and engaging experience and helping our students adjust to their new collegiate environment,” Debbie said.
