Late Registration for Fall classes will require instructor signature

For Fall Semester 2023, the College’s pre-pandemic Late Registration Policy is back in effect, which means students who wish to register for a course after the semester begins on August 28 must obtain the instructor’s permission.

However, students will not be charged a fee for late registration.

Process steps include:

  • Students who want to add a class after the semester begins should obtain a Late Registration Activity Request Form (click to download the form).
  • During the week of Aug. 28 to Sep. 3, students who want to be admitted to a class need to obtain the instructor’s permission (via the instructor’s signature on the form).
    • Students can take completed copies of the paper form to the Registrar’s Office (ATLC 105).
    • Or, the student can attach a digital copy of the completed form to an email message (using Cincinnati State email) that the student sends to the Registrar’s Office at ro@cincinnatistate.edu.
    • An alternative is for the student to forward to the Registrar’s Office (using Cincinnati State email) an email message from the instructor’s Cincinnati State email in which the instructor grants permission for the late entry to the class.
  • From Sep. 4-10, students will need both the instructor’s and the dean’s approval to enter a class.
  • After Sep. 10, late admission to a full-semester (15-week) class requires approval from the Provost as well as the instructor and dean.
  • Late registrations after Sep. 10 will be charged the out-of-state tuition rate.

During the weeks of Aug. 21-25, and Aug. 28-Sep. 1, the Registrar’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Late Registration for Fall 10-week classes will start October 2..

  • Instructor permission will be required to enter a 10-week class from Oct. 2 to 7.
  • Dean and instructor permission will be required to enter a 10-week class on Oct. 8 or 9.
  • Additional Provost permission will be required to enter a 10-week class after Oct. 9, and the out-of-state tuition rate will be charged.

Classes of any other length will require instructor permission as of the first date for that specific session.
