Congressman Davidson visited Cinti West campus for tour & discussion of Aviation Maintenance Technology program
Congressman Warren Davidson visited Cincinnati State’s Harrison (Cincinnati West) Campus in late June to tour the location and talk to College faculty, staff members, administrators, and Board of Trustees members.
This is the first time Congressman Davidson has visited Cincinnati State’s Harrison Campus since his congressional district, OH-8, was expanded to include parts of western Hamilton County that were previously part of Ohio’s Congressional District 1.
Rep. Davidson’s district includes Butler County and he has visited Cincinnati State’s Middletown Campus and participated in some College events in Butler County.
Congressman Davidson’s visit to the Harrison Campus followed from an invitation extended by President Monica Posey, Board of Trustees Chair John Silverman, Board member Mark Walton, and Chief of Institutional Advancement Elliott Ruther, when they met with Rep. Davidson in Washington, DC, during the Association of Community College Trustees conference in early 2023. At the meeting, they invited Rep. Davidson to the Harrison Campus, and the June visit followed up on the earlier invitation.
During his visit, Rep. Davidson discussed with College representatives the success and growth of the Aviation Maintenance Technology program, as well as the College’s aspirational plans to expand the program to better serve student and industry needs.
President Monica Posey said, “We appreciate Congressman Davidson’s interest in learning more about ways that our Aviation Maintenance Technology program is helping students prepare for work in the aviation industry. We hope we can expand the academic facilities to increase opportunities for even more students, and also provide regional employers with more of the skilled technicians they need.”
