Welcome, Interim VP of Administration John Tafaro
John Tafaro. J.D., is Cincinnati State’s Interim Vice President of Administration, effective Dec. 1.
John served as president of Chatfield College, a private college located in Cincinnati, from 2009 to 2019.
In addition to higher education experience, John’s background includes serving as a consultant or executive officer for several philanthropic and business organizations.
John holds a bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University and a master’s degree from Ohio University. He received the Juris Doctor degree from the Salmon P. Chase School of Law at Northern Kentucky University.
In 2021, John earned professional certification as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy from the American College of Financial Services, an HLC-accredited private college that provides specialized training in financial topics.
John said, “I have known and admired President Posey for more than a decade, and look forward to working with her, the Executive Team, and all of the faculty and staff to help students achieve a better future for themselves and their families.”

John is married to Charlotte, a social worker, and said, “We have are blessed to have three adult children and six grandchildren, ranging in age from 4 to 17, who keep us very busy.”
