“1 Night, 12 Kitchens” preview on Ch. 9 examined MCI culinary education

Cincinnati State’s premier culinary fundraising event, 1 Night, 12 Kitchens, returns on Sunday, April 27, 2025, after a five-year hiatus, and a few General Admission tickets are still available.

The event benefits students at Cincinnati State’s Midwest Culinary Institute (MCI), including students featured in a Ch. 9 (WCPO-TV) report that aired April 17. MCI Director Michael Whitley and Culinary Program Chair Chef Greg Skibinski also were interviewed about the importance of Cincinnati State’s role in preparing new chefs to contribute to the region’s culinary achievements.

The 1 Night, 12 Kitchens event will feature food from more than 25 of the region’s best restaurants, along with opportunities to talk to the chefs and culinary students as they prepare the amazing “small bites” and desserts that guests will enjoy.

  • This year, a commemorative poster for the event has been created by local artist Keith Neltner, in a limited edition of 150. Participating restaurants, wine and beer vendors, and key sponsors will receive the hand-signed and numbered poster.
  • Also, five of the posters will be awarded to randomly-selected ticket purchasers in a raffle.
  • Any remaining posters will be sold at the event to raise additional funds for MCI student scholarships.

General Admission tickets are $125 each and include access to MCI’s teaching kitchens, exceptional food, many wine and beer options, a silent auction, and more.
