A graduate of Cincinnati State’s EMT-Paramedic Science program was interviewed on WLWT-TV (Channel 5) about his efforts fighting the recent California wildfires as a member of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
Andrew Mott, who grew up in Montgomery, earned the Paramedic Science degree in 2012 and also completed firefighter training at Cincinnati State.
In the story that aired on Channel 5 on January 15, 2025, Andrew described his experiences fighting the Palisades wildfire in California, including “working for three days straight without any sleep, trying to save as many homes as they could.”
The story also describes a “special connection” Andrew and his firefighting partner made with a couple whose home was saved.
Before moving to California, Andrew was a firefighter with departments in Deer Park, Madeira, Indiana Hill, and Montgomery. He also traveled and worked as a paramedic outside of the U.S.
