A new career exploration resource– Forage– is now part of Starfish
Cincinnati State students now have access to a new, free resource for exploring careers through online simulations of job-related tasks.
The resource, Forage, is available to students in the “Services” area of Starfish.
The Forage platform provides job simulations that replicate the day-to-day tasks of a typical internship, giving students knowledge and skills needed for success in the workforce.
- A career exploration quiz will help students select job simulations to examine.
- During the virtual simulations, students use materials and complete assignments provided by the employers they selected. The simulations are designed to mimic the tasks typically assigned to interns or recent graduates.
- Through the self-paced learning provided by Forage, any student can experience working at some of the world’s top firms.
- The Forage platform doesn’t replace experiential learning, but it will help students prepare for their experiences while building skills and confidence.
Examples of Forage job simulations include:
- Accounting: Experience a day with KPMG Audit Services and learn about Sustainability in Banking
- Engineering: Explore Engineering at GE, Civil Engineering at John Holland, or Manufacturing at Diageo
- Software Engineering: Explore Digital Technology at GE Aerospace
- Healthcare: Explore Genetic Science at Thermo Fischer Scientific
- Life Sciences: Experience Biology Research at LifeArc
- Career Readiness: Prepare for a Technical Interview (Girls Who Code), or learn about Excel Skills for Business (Goldman Sachs)
