Nursing students assisted at community health event

Ten Cincinnati State Nursing students provided help with a variety of tasks at the annual Wellness Symposium hosted by the Recovery Center of Hamilton County on May 24.

In addition to checking blood pressure, the students assisted at the sign-in table, served food, and socialized with more than 150 event participants.

Chris Pedoto, the Executive Director of the Recovery Center, said the students provided “fantastic” support for the event.

Nursing Professor Janice Curry said the students commented on how rewarding it was to participate and “connect and learn from the community at large.” 

“I was proud of our highly motivated students,” Janice said. “They were helping all over the place and providing service with a smile.”

“The Cincinnati State students made a difference and were appreciated,” Janice added.
