OTA students collected supplies for the Surge Cupboard
Members of the Student Occupational Therapy Association have participated in community service throughout the year, including a recent donation to the Surge Cupboard Food Pantry.
Other service projects during the 2023-24 academic year included support for Matthew 25 Ministries, the Alzheimer’s Walk, and the Great Parks clean-up event at Winton Woods.
Program Chair Claudia Miller said students in the OTA program are encouraged to demonstrate leadership skills and community engagement, along with their academic achievements.
Currently-registered Cincinnati State students may visit the Surge Cupboard in Main 137 once a month to receive up to a 3-day supply of food and toiletries at no cost, by showing their Surge Card (student ID card) and bringing their MyCState/Blackboard login information.
The Surge Cupboard is open during Summer Semester on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m., or students can contact Angela Haensel at angela.haensel@cincinnatistate.edu to make an appointment for another time.
