Denise Gabrelski is this week’s “Woman of Empowerment”
The Women’s Empowerment Network (WEN) has selected Denise Gabrelski, Manager of Cincinnati State’s Parenting Resource Center, as the Cincinnati State Woman of Empowerment for the second week of March.
The Parenting Resource Center provides support and resources to help students who are also parents to meet challenges, achieve balance between school and other responsibilities, and achieve success.
Denise’s nomination described her as “going above and beyond” to assist students. A Cincinnati State graduate said, “When I started at Cincinnati State, Denise helped me create credentials, helped me find daycare for my daughter, and helped me with other things that were not part of her job. She called me frequently to make sure that I was ok with classes and keeping up with assignments.”
The nomination continued: “Denise’s kindness and humanity really impacted me, and I was able to finish my degree at Cincinnati State with much credit to her.”
Denise said her favorite thing about the College is “the people– students and employees alike!”
Denise also noted that if she could do one thing to improve women’s lives, she would “create a potion that would help every woman feel worthy and empowered at each stage of their lives.”
Women of Empowerment will continue to be recognized throughout March (Women’s History Month) You can use this online form to nominate a Cincinnati State student or employee who embodies hard work, dedication, and empowerment of others.
