Construction Update: Norwood Lateral Project might disrupt your commute
Although the Norwood Lateral (Ohio Route 562) is several miles from Cincinnati State’s campuses, it’s possible your travel to a campus will be affected by the bridge rehabilitation and resurfacing project that will shut down the Lateral for several months, starting this Sunday, March 10.
- For more about the reasons for the shutdown, see this article at Cincinnati.com.

Wednesday, March 6 through Friday, March 8:
Intermittent lane restrictions are in place this week on the Norwood Lateral, Reading Road, Paddock Road, and Ross Avenue in preparation for the shutdown of eastbound lanes of the Lateral.
- Single-lane closures are in place on the Lateral in the eastbound direction; on Reading and Paddock roads, between the east and westbound entrance ramps to the Lateral; and on Ross Avenue under the Lateral from approximately 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Although work is not scheduled during daytime hours this week, restrictions may be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and traffic will be maintained through the work zones in a minimum of one lane in either direction.
Starting Sunday, March 10, in the late evening, the eastbound lanes of the Norwood Lateral will be closed.
- By late that night or early morning on March 11, Ohio 562 eastbound will be completely closed from I-75 to I-71. This portion of the highway is expected to reopen around May 24.
Construction on the westbound lanes of the Lateral is expected to start June 2.
- By late that night or early morning on June 3, Ohio 562 westbound will be completely closed from I-75 to I-71. This portion of the highway is expected to reopen in late August.
