Welcome new Veterans & International Students Manager, Chris Macklin
Chris Macklin is the new Manager of Veterans & International Student Affairs at Cincinnati State.
Chris has served as a Veteran Advocate in Greater Cincinnati since 2014, working with several non-profit organizations that help veterans.
At Easterseals Serving Greater Cincinnati, Chris supervised the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program, to help homeless veterans move into meaningful employment. He also implemented the Peer Support for Employment Program, working with a team to assist individuals navigating the challenges of transitioning from public employment benefits to economic self-sufficiency.
Recently, Chris supervised the program Supportive Services for Veterans Families and worked in partnership with others to ensure that programming and services administered by Talbert House are effective, sustainable, and consistent with collective work to end homelessness in the region.
Chris received a Bachelor of Science with a major in addiction counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Master of Applied Social Science from Case Western Reserve University. He also has earned several postgraduate certificates focused on leadership and services to veterans and their families.
Chris’ volunteer and community service activities include Chairman of the NAACP Veteran Affairs Committee, Omega Psi Phi Inc. Fatherhood & Mentoring and Mental Health programs, State of Ohio Peer Support Master Facilitator, Member of the United Way “Champions of Change” committee, the Ford “Men of Courage,” Corinthian Baptist Church Welcoming Committee, and the Dayton RV Honor Flight.
Chris is married to Mia and has a blended family of seven adult children, seven grandchildren, and two dogs.
