Reminder: Please provide feedback for learning management systems
Users of Blackboard, Cincinnati State’s current learning management system (LMS), are encouraged to provide your feedback about LMS choices today, December 1, if you haven’t already done so.
Faculty and staff members who use Blackboard can review recorded demonstrations of LMS options and then reply to a survey for each LMS.
Product demonstrations are available for three LMS systems: Brightspace, Blackboard Ultra, and Canvas.
- All recordings are available in the LMS Evaluation Portal site in Blackboard, which you should see in your list of courses after you log in to MyCState.
- To find the recordings, go to the “Informational Sessions” section of the LMS Evaluation Portal site.
- After viewing each recording, please use the appropriate survey link to share your comments about each product.
- If you encounter difficulties or have questions, contact Dr. Stephanie Stafford for assistance (stephanie.stafford@cincinnatistate.edu).
Next steps in the LMS Evaluation process are expected to include asking vendors to develop sample courses that faculty can try out.
The evaluation process will be completed and a new LMS will be selected during the 2023-24 academic year. Transition to a new LMS will occur during the 2024-25 academic year, with full use of a new system expected to launch in Fall Semester 2025.
If you have questions, you can contact Dr. Stephanie Stafford or the other members of the LMS Evaluation Team: Jon McKamey, Julie McLaughlin, Bob Nields, Peggy Rolfsen, Frankie Baker, and Tracy Metsch.
