Nominations for the Adjunct Excellence undergo a multi-step review process:
- The Faculty Senate’s Faculty Excellence Committee will send eligible nominations to each nominee’s program or department chair for review.
- All nominations supported by program or department chairs will be sent to the applicable administrator (dean or director) for review.
- All nominations supported by both the program/department chair and the applicable administrator will be reviewed by the Faculty Excellence Committee.
- Program/department chairs and administrators may choose to not forward any nominations from their division to the Faculty Excellence Committee.
- If multiple nominees from a division are supported by the program/department chair and the administrator, the Faculty Excellence Committee will review the nomination documentation and seek additional feedback from the program/department chair and administrator to select a recipient for that division.
Background:
The House/Bruckmann Faculty Excellence Awards were established in 1985 to recognize excellence in instruction and co-op/clinical coordination at the College.
- The awards are named for Clifford R. House, the first president of Cincinnati Technical College, and Alice P. Bruckmann, a member of the College’s first Board of Trustees.
- Award criteria and selection processes have been revised several times, including changes made to facilitate recognition of varied faculty responsibilities, not limited to classroom instruction and co-op/clinical coordination.
The Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award was established by the Faculty Senate in 2020 and presented for the first time in 2021.
