Humanities & Sciences welcomes new faculty
Two faculty members have joined the Humanities & Sciences Division in Fall Semester:
Jelecia Jackson is an Annually Contracted Instructor in the Early Childhood Education program. Prevously, she served as Interim Director of the William Mallory Early Learning Center when the Center reopened after COVID.
Jelecia says creating and supporting high-quality early learning experiences for children has been her passion since she was a teenager. She has been working in the field of early childhood education for over 25 years, including experience working in private and non-profit sectors, Head Start, and as an owner of her own Early Childhood Early Learning Center.
In addition to developing optimal learning experiences for children, Jelecia also has provided support for families by offering parent workshops and individual coaching.
Jelecia earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University (Ohio) and a Master of Education in early childhood development from Towson University (Maryland).
Away from work, Jelecia enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and seeking new experiences.
Holly Disch is a new tenure-track instructor for Addiction Studies. She started Fall Semester teaching online, and will be on campus in November after moving from northern Ohio.
Holly is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and harm reductionist who has worked as a trauma-informed clinical therapist. She practices traditional talk therapy as well as eclectic and somatic (focused on mind and body) approaches.
Holly holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Kent State University and a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
Holly said she is excited to bring her love of harm reduction, compassionate care, and the most up-to-date information into the classroom.
