Engineering & Information Technologies welcomes new faculty
Three new tenure-track faculty members joined the EIT Division in Fall Semester:
Oliver Meinerding is a Graphic Design instructor who brings to the College over 15 years of professional experience as a designer and illustrator. His work has received ADDY awards and has been featured in ImagineFX digital art magazine and the Spectrum Fantastic Art annual. He has collaborated with tabletop gaming companies, publications, and global brands like Old Spice, Charmin, and Captain Morgan.
Oliver earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Kentucky University and started his career at Interbrand, an international branding and packaging design agency. After becoming a parent, he shifted to smaller studios, focusing on packaging design and branding, while continuing work as a freelance illustrator.
Geraldine Savrda is an instructor for Electrical Engineering Technologies. She is a 2019 Cincinnati State graduate (Electronic Engineering Technologies – Electronics Systems Major) who worked in the EIT Lab Center while she was a student. She served as an adjunct instructor for two years prior joining the full-time faculty.
Geraldine holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Indiana).
Geraldine says in her free time she reads, writes, codes, and does the occasional raspberry pi project. She also loves riding roller coasters at King’s Island, and enjoys gardening, and her two cats, Niko and Violet. She is looking forward to facilitating student growth inside and outside of the classroom.
Matt Spetz is a Mechanical Engineering Technology instructor, who has served as an adjunct instructor for the MET program since 2020.
Matt holds a Manufacturing Engineering degree from Miami University and an MBA from Northern Kentucky University. Previously, he worked at the University of Cincinnati as a Maker Space technician, at Fives Machining as a sales engineer, and at an engineering consulting firm.
Matt and his wife live on the west side of Cincinnati. His family, including the four kids, is seen in the photo,
