Faculty: Add the new online guide to College resources to your Blackboard courses
A new, comprehensive Student Resources Guide is available now online and faculty members can add the Resources Guide to your Blackboard sites for any of your Fall courses. The Guide is appropriate for students taking in-person classes as well as online and hybrid courses.
The Resources Guide includes links to information about numerous Cincinnati State support services for academic and non-academic student concerns. The Guide also includes several “success tips” for students that were developed in collaboration with a group of faculty members. Many of the tips are provided via “watch and learn” video resources.
- The Guide is designed to give students consistent, streamlined access to information about College resources, and will operate effectively on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers.
- The Guide allows faculty to share up-to-date resource information with students, and eliminates the need to check resource links every semester to be sure they are accurate. Giving students easy access to information about College resources and support services, along with your other course materials, is a recommended “best practice” for all courses.
- Also, faculty members can customize the Guide after making it part of your Blackboard courses, by adding course-specific resource materials, or removing material that is redundant because it’s already somewhere else in your Blackboard site.
View the Guide directly at https://library.cincinnatistate.edu/studentresources.
Instructors have two methods for adding the Resources Guide to your Blackboard courses:
- Embed the Resources Guide directly into your Blackboard course sites (Click to see Embed instructions)
- Use “Course Copy” to copy the Resources Guide from the Blackboard Online/Hybrid Course Design Template into your Blackboard course sites (Click to see Copy instructions)
The Student Resources Guide is scheduled to become a standard part of every Cincinnati State Blackboard course “shell” provided to instructors starting in Spring Semester 2024– but faculty are encouraged to make the new Guide part of your Fall courses to enhance student success.
