Need cooking equipment? MCI giveaway is Aug. 2 & 3
Note: As of Aug. 3, 9:30 a.m., only a few giveaway items are left, but you’re welcome to come to the ATLC Lower Level and take a look.
Parking instructions below (for pick-up of large/heavy items from the giveaway) have been updated.
The Midwest Culinary Institute has some extra cooking equipment that has been in storage for a while, and is now offering these items to members of the College community at no charge.
Equipment available during the MCI giveaway includes pots, pans, glassware, cooking utensils (such as tongs and ladles), and a few specialty items.
The giveaway takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 2, and Thursday, Aug. 3, on the Lower Level of the ATLC, near Room 028 and the Game Room.
- On Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon, you’re asked to limit your choices to a maximum of 8 items, so everyone who is interested in obtaining cooking equipment has a chance.
- On Aug. 3 from noon to 3 p.m. you can take anything you want!
- Please note: the storage carts and bins used to display the excess equipment are NOT included in the giveaway.
The MCI cannot hold items for you– please plan on immediately moving the items you select. However, power-washing of the outside of the ATLC, including the Summit Valet Parking area, is taking place this week. If you need to load large or heavy items into your vehicle, you can temporarily park along the left side of College Drive, next to the guard rail around the loading dock area of ATLC. Enter the loading dock door entrance and proceed down to the Lower Level area near the Game Room where the MCI equipment giveaway is located.
