Help needed to greet & assist 200 new students at July 27 Welcome Day
Over 200 new students are scheduled to attend Cincinnati State Welcome Day on Thursday, July 27, and volunteers are needed to assist at the event.
During the Welcome Day event, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., new students and their family members can tour campus; visit the Bookstore; meet with Financial Aid advisors; get a Surge Card; and learn about College software systems, student services, and what to expect as a CState student.
Helpers are needed July 27 at check-in and to lead “Navigating our Systems” sessions, as well as on Saturday, August 5 (starting at 9 a.m.), and Thursday, August 17 (starting at 5:30 p.m.).
- For the “Navigating our Systems” session, you’ll assist students as they learn to use MyCState, Self-Service (formerly MyServices), SurgeMail, eForms, Blackboard, and Starfish.

Director of Admissions Debbie Poweleit said, “Helping on Welcome Day is a great way to meet our entering fall class, show off your CState pride, and provide a friendly atmosphere for new students as they begin their education journey.”
