Helpers needed for new student Welcome Days

The Cincinnati State Welcome Day on June 2 provided assistance for over 30 new students who were beginning classes in Summer Semester or will start in Fall.

During each 2-hour Welcome Day event on Clifton Campus, new students can tour campus; visit the Bookstore; meet with financial aid advisors; get a Surge Card; learn about College software systems, student services, and what to expect as a CState student; and ask questions.

Helpers are needed to lead “Navigating our Systems” sessions during Summer Welcome Days on Thursday, July 27 (starting at 5:30 p.m.), Saturday, August 5 (starting at 9 a.m.), and Thursday, August 17 (starting at 5:30 p.m.).

Director of Admissions Debbie Poweleit said students who attended the first Welcome Day had many positive comments, including, “Very interesting,” “Very informative and helpful,” and” “It was great!  I am excited to be a student here!”

Debbie thanked everyone who contributed to the first Welcome Day, and said, “Our future students and their parents and guests left more informed and prepared for the start of the semester.”
