Two CState presenters are part of free virtual OER conference; registration deadline is May 10
OpenCon 2023, a free virtual conference on improving student learning experiences through use of Open Educational Resources (OER), takes place Friday, May 19, via Zoom.
Cleveland State University is hosting the conference, which is open to faculty, students, and other interested participants. The conference theme is “The Transformative Power of Open Education.”
Cincinnati State faculty member Kelly Hubbard (Early Childhood Education) will be part of a panel discussion on faculty experiences with OER and Library Director Crissy Ross is presenting a pre-recorded asynchronous “Lightning Talk” session.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Maha Bali, Professor of Practice at the Center for Learning and Teaching at the American University in Cairo. She is co-founder of virtuallyconnecting.org, a grassroots movement that challenges academic gatekeeping at conferences, and co-facilitator of Equity Unbound, an equity-focused, open, connected intercultural learning curriculum.
- Registered participants can attend the presentations, discussions, and workshops on May 19 and the prerecorded “lightning talk” sessions on May 15-18 to registrants.
