Automotive Career Day linked students with future employers
More than 40 students seeking degrees or certificates in Automotive Service Management had an opportunity to meet with industry representatives and potential employers during the Automotive Career Day event held March 1 on Clifton Campus.
Co-op Coordinator Brian Hooten said the 10 participating employers enjoyed talking to students about potential co-op and flexible part-time work assignments.
The automotive students met with General Managers, Service Managers, and HR Recruiters from some of the largest local auto dealer groups and companies, including the Kenwood Dealer Group, Ford, Jake Sweeney BMW, Jake Sweeney Mitsubishi, Lincoln, McCluskey Chevrolet, and Tire Discounter.
Brian said the future job outlook for automotive technicians is favorable, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting over 73,000 openings each year for automotive service technicians and mechanics.
