“Eat/Play/Give” fundraiser on Mar. 5 benefits the deCavel Family SIDS Foundation & CState scholarships
Cincinnati State will host the de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation’s annual “Eat/Play/Give” fundraising brunch on Sunday, March 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This unique culinary event features savory treats and scrumptious sweets prepared by more than 20 of the best chefs, restaurateurs, and foodies in Greater Cincinnati.
In addition to food and drink, guests can enjoy on-site music and kid-friendly activities, as well as a silent auction offering arts and entertainment packages.
The de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation was formed by Jean-Robert de Cavel and Annette Pfund-de Cavel after the abrupt death of their firstborn child, Tatiana, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Tatiana was one of roughly 2,000 infants who lose their lives to SIDS each year.
This year’s event will also honor Chef Jean-Robert, a towering figure in Cincinnati’s culinary community and a long-time supporter of the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State.
In Tatiana’s memory, a portion of the proceeds from the annual event are dedicated to the Tatiana de Cavel Memorial Scholarship fund at Cincinnati State. Scholarships are awarded to MCI students who demonstrate passion for great food, hard work, and community outreach.
