“Keep on Teaching” webinar helps faculty to support students & avoid burnout

Many organizations continue to offer programs that may be of interest to Cincinnati State faculty and other members of the College community.
The Chronicle of Higher Education is offering a free 2-part webinar titled “Keep on Teaching” that provides help for faculty members who want to support and motivate students without burning out.
Part 1 is Friday, January 20, at 2 p.m. Topics include:
- Making the most of valuable class time — in person or online
- Fostering motivation and engagement
- Meeting the particular challenges of online and hybrid teaching
Forum participants are:
- Bryan Dewsbury, Associate Professor of Biological Sciences and Associate Director of the STEM Transformation Institute, Florida International University
- Rebecca Glazier, Associate Professor in the School of Public Affairs, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and author of Connecting in the Online Classroom: Building Rapport Between Teachers and Students
- Lindsay Masland, Interim Lead for Transformative Teaching and Learning in the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for Student Success and Associate Professor of Psychology, Appalachian State University
Part 2 of “Keep on Teaching” will be offered Friday, February 10, at 2 p.m. and will be open to faculty members who subscribe to the Chronicle‘s free Teaching newsletter.
