Final week for Giving Challenge includes prize drawings and lots of fundraising options to support
The Annual Fund Giving Challenge to support Cincinnati State students and programs through contributions to the Cincinnati State Foundation concludes on Friday, December 9.
Everyone who turns in a Pledge Form by 2 p.m. today, December 5, will be entered in two prize drawings:
- Two vouchers (4 tickets) for a Florence Y’Alls baseball game, to be used anytime during the 2023 season.
- A round of golf for 2 at The Links at Rising Star Casino Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana. The prize package includes a cart and is valid through Nov. 30, 2023.
Giving Challenge teams representing divisions and departments are offering fundraising projects that are open to all.
Team 3 (Health & Public Safety) is selling Split the Pot tickets for $1 each (6 for $5, 15 for $10). You can purchase tickets using cash, Zelle, or Venmo. Contact a Team 3 Captain (see list below) for more information.
Team 4 (Humanities & Sciences) has a Gift Basket Raffle in progress.
- You can buy a ticket ($1 each) and bid on one of several gift baskets currently on display in the division office, Main 232.
- To bid, place part of your ticket in the box next to each basket– the more you bid, the better your chances to win your favorite basket! (Hold on to the “coupon” portion of your tickets, since winners will be identified via the number on the ticket.)
- Winners will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 7. For more information, see a Team 4 Captain (listed below).
- While looking at the baskets, you can also pick up some holiday cookies from the annual H&S cookie exchange.
Team 6 (Enrollment & Student Development) is offering a Flower/Candy Sale, through Thursday, Dec. 8.
- You can send a pick-me-up or kudos to a colleague via a candy bar, a rose, or both!
- Purchase gift tags (2 for $5) and your chosen recipients will receive a gift with a tag that identifies you as the sender and can include a special message if you wish.
- All items will be delivered on Monday, Dec. 12.
- Payments via cash, Zelle, or Cash App are gladly accepted, and a Team 6 Captain (listed below) will be happy to assist you.
Team 7 (Special Ops) has several fundraising options underway. For more information about any of these activities, contact a Team 7 Captain (listed below).
- 50/50 Raffle – Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5
- Send a Note of Appreciation to a Colleague – $3 for delivery via interoffice mail, or $5 for in-person delivery accompanied by music you choose
- “Get Rid of the Turkey and Make Room for the Ham” Walking Challenge – Pledge $5 and commit to completing regular walking between now and Dec. 16 – First place is 10,000 steps every day, Second place is 10,000 steps on 10 days, Third place is 10,000 steps on 5 days (honor system for tracking your steps)
- Sherbet Float Day – Dec. 6, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – ATLC First Floor – $2 for a 9 oz. cup
- Painting Party – Purchase your ticket now for a party to be held in January or February (depending on participants’ schedules) – Ticket includes all supplies, plus music and snacks – $15 for small canvas, $20 for medium, $25 for large
- Yard Sale – Dec. 8, noon to 4 p.m. – location TBA – bring in yard sale items through Dec. 7 – any unsold items will be donated to Goodwill

All Annual Fund donations– small or large– are welcomed and valued.

- You can choose how you want to direct your gift, by selecting:
- a scholarship fund
- a division or campus fund that provides resources for purchasing classroom equipment or other support for teaching and learning
- a special initiative such as CState Accelerate, the Career Closet, the Surge Pantry Food Cupboard, or other College projects and services
