Learn more about AEDs at Common Time on Nov. 7
During Common Time on Monday, November 7, Cincinnati State Police Chief Mike Martinsen will describe the Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) available on campus, and answer questions about the use of these potentially life-saving devices.
- An AED is a machine available in many public locations– including at Cincinnati State– that is used to revive someone from sudden cardiac arrest, by “jolting” the heart back to a regular rhythm if it is beating too fast (ventricular tachycardia) or in an irregular manner (ventricular fibrillation).
- Operating an AED does not require a medical professional– almost anyone can prepare to use an AED in an emergency, which is a reason these devices often are placed in schools, airports, malls, and other buildings.
All College employees are invited to attend this in-person-only Common Time, starting at 3 p.m. in the Main Building Conference Center. The session will not be available via Zoom.
