CState was host for national conference of surveying professionals
Cincinnati State’s Land Surveying program served as host for the 2022 UESI (Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute) Surveying & Geomatics Conference.
The national conference took place October 2-4 at the Event Center in Lawrenceburg, IN, and more than 100 participants registered for the event.
Land Surveying faculty members Dr. Carol Morman and Jim Decker were the co-chairs for the conference, which was originally scheduled for May 2020, and has been in the planning stages since 2019.
Co-op Coordinator Doug Woodruff also helped facilitate conference activities.
Cincinnati State President Monica Posey welcomed the participants to the conference, which included workshops, technical sessions, keynote speakers, and panel discussions.
The conference also included a technical tour to Osgood, IN, to examine a Bilby Tower– a type of steel survey tower used by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey from 1927 to 1984.
Cincinnati State Land Surveying students Greg Bryant, Braden Deiner, Max Paul, and Adam Pettyjohn, and program alumni Cara Morman and Jamie Morman introduced speakers and assisted as moderators for workshops and technical sessions.
