Human Resources Office welcomes new Recruiter Julius Hurd

Julius Hurd has joined the Cincinnati State Human Resources Office as a Human Resources Recruiter.

Julius will support hiring for the Health & Public Safety division, the Engineering & Information Technologies division, the Workforce Development Center, and the Enrollment Services and Finance departments.

He will partner with hiring managers to help determine staffing needs, screen resumes, perform reference and background checks, and follow up on interview status. In addition, he’ll attend career fairs to help promote Cincinnati State.

Julius previously worked as an HR recruiter for The Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, and for the past year he worked in management for UC Health– but his goal was to return to the HR world.

Falonda Rodgers, Director of HR & Title IX Coordinator, said, “We are excited to have Julius join our HR team. He brings to the College several years of HR recruitment experience, as well as managerial skills. He is eager to get started working with his teams!”

Julius earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Indiana Tech University and a master’s degree with a concentration in Sports Management from Delaware State University.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1990 to 1998, and he has over 35 years of active involvement with Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America.

Julius has a 25-year old daughter, and he’s actively raising his 15-year old nephew. He loves spending time with his family, and traveling whenever he gets the chance.
