Help K-8 students by joining the CState “Adopt A Class” team
Information sessions offered during the first week in August will explain how College employees can join forces with “Adopt A Class,” a local non-profit group that enlists mentors to work with students from underserved communities throughout Greater Cincinnati.
- The Adopt A Class model pairs teams of mentors from a business or organization with a classroom teacher (Kindergarten through 8th grade).
- Throughout the school year, mentors engage with their students one hour, once a month through classroom visits, educational activities, field trips, and “pen paling,” with emphasis on College & Career, Essential Employability Skills, and STE(A)M Activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math).
To learn more, you can join an information session (either in-person or via Zoom) where Adopt A Class Executive Director Sonya Fultz will discuss expectations, time commitments, and training, as well as potential school locations and grade levels for CState team members.
