The Board did not have a quorum of members in attendance, so no voting was conducted. The Trustees received reports and discussed topics that included:
- Review of the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2023, which begins July 1, 2022. The Board is expected to approve the FY23 budget at their meeting on June 28.
- An update on construction/maintenance projects that are in progress, and plans for several improvements to the exterior of Clifton Campus buildings and garages.
- Review of recommendations for Sabbatical Leave for 3 faculty members:
- Jayne Dressing – Create alternative models for co-op/internship for students focused on transfer to a 4-year program after completing their associate’s degree.
- Candice “CJ” Jones – Create a Culinary Nutrition Therapy course and design and implement an accelerated Dietary Management Certificate.
- Leesha Thrower – Create a Cincinnati State Speaker’s Bureau to serve the community.
- A report from the Faculty Senate, including the Senate’s recommendation to increase compensation for adjunct faculty as part of the FY23 budget. Board Chairperson George Vincent said the Trustees would wait to hear the administration’s recommendation.
- Recognition of the partnership between Learning Grove and Cincinnati State to operate the William L. Mallory Early Learning Center on Clifton Campus. The Mallory Center currently is providing care for 42 children and expects to expand enrollment in Fall. The Mallory Center also provides lab and practicum opportunities for students in several degree programs.
- Recognition of the 2022 recipients of the House/Bruckmann Faculty Excellence Award, the Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award, and Professor Emeritus status.
- Recognition of CJ Jones as recipient of the President’s Award from the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The next Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for June 28, 2022, in the Conference Center on Clifton Campus.
