Capital funds appropriations for FY23-24 will support IT modernization & other projects
Cincinnati State will receive about $6.1 million in new Capital Funds appropriations from the State of Ohio, according to announcements from the State Office of Budget and Management. The funds are part of biennial (every other year) appropriations for Fiscal Year 2023 (beginning July 1, 2022) and Fiscal Year 2024.
Chris Calvert, the College’s Chief Financial Officer, said the new funds allocations will support several campus improvement projects that are already underway, including completion of IT modernization, improvements to the Clifton Campus Main Building, and other campus infrastructure projects.
According to the Ohio Office of Budget and Management, the State of Ohio’s biennial Capital Budget, enacted in each even-numbered year, provides appropriations for repair, reconstruction, and new construction at colleges and universities as well as state agencies and school districts. In some years, funds are also allocated for community projects of local or regional interest.
