New Completion Scholarships will help students graduate
The Cincinnati State Foundation has secured $75,000 to pilot a Completion Scholarship program aimed at helping students who are close to graduation but have no financial aid or other institutional scholarship funds available.
A process for identifying eligible students has been established by members of the Budget Advisory Team (BAT) subgroup dedicated to this project, as well as the Institutional Research office, Office of Financial Aid, and the Development Office.
The eligibility criteria are:
- Enrolled in a degree program or a certificate program that requires at least 30 credit hours
- Enrolled within the past academic year
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- 12 credit hours or fewer to graduate
- Ineligible for financial aid funding
To help make this initiative sustainable, a Completion Advisor will collaborate with Program Chairs to review the list of eligible students. The Completion Advisor will work with Program Chairs to develop action plans for student communication, course selection, and registration. The Completion Advisor will also conduct regular follow-up meetings with students who receive Completion Scholarship funds.
If you have questions about this project, please contact the BAT subgroup lead, Marianne Niese (marianne.niese@cincinnatistate.edu).
