Celebrate U.S. Grant’s birthday on Apr. 27
The Cincinnati Type & Print Museum invites members of the community to celebrate the 200th birthday of Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President of the United States, on Wednesday, Apr. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Museum (2307 W. Eighth St. in Lower Price Hill).
The Museum’s founder and director is retired CState faculty member Gary Walton, who served as chair of the Graphic Imaging Technology program for many years.
Best known as a President and Civil War General, Ulysses Grant spent the majority of his childhood in the Greater Cincinnati area.
To celebrate this distinguished local citizen, the Museum will be printing copies of Grant’s 1872 presidential campaign ad (above) on an 1860s Cincinnati-made printing press.
Multiple presses will be running during the open house event, and refreshments– including birthday cake– will be served.
