Prepare for financial services industry exam via free course this summer

Cincinnati State has partnered with Fidelity Investments and the Securities Training Corporation (STC) to offer the materials needed to prepare for the SIE (Security Industry Essentials) Exam, at no cost to participating students.

The SIE Exam assesses knowledge of basic terminology and concepts important for an entry-level position in the financial services industry and is the prererequisite for other FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) exams.

Students who are interested in careers as securities salespersons, branch managers, or department supervisors in financial services firms such as banks, insurance companies, or wealth management firms can get a head start toward their professional goals by passing the SIE Exam now.

The self-paced online class will be offered in Summer 2022, from May 9 to July 11. Students who complete the course are expected to take the SIE Exam.
To be eligible for the Exam Prep course, students must have completed 30 credit hours of college-level coursework and must have a GPA above 2.5.
CState alumni and employees are eligible to apply to take the Exam Prep course also.
The cost of the Exam Prep course (a $200 value) and the fee for the SIE Exam will be covered by the sponsors, Fidelity and STC.
The deadline to apply is April 25, 2022.

Two information sessions will be offered via Zoom to learn more about the SEI Exam and the Exam Prep course:

Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 4 p.m.
Thursday, Apr. 14, at noon
